A cossack lunch on the shores of the Don

Those that live there jokingly refer to the left bank of the Don River as “Levberdon.” It is almost thirty kilometres of sandy beach scattered with recreation centres, cafes and restaurants. Locals spend the weekend, holidays and other celebrations here. In the 20th century, archeologists discovered remains of moorings from Peter the Great’s navy. Nowadays the restaurant-hotel complex Peter’s Mooring is located right next door. Here guests can try both modern cuisine and dishes made following traditional recipes from the Cossacks on the Don.
