Taman. Treasure peninsula

The Taman Peninsula in southern Russia is inextricably linked with two seas: The Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. It is characterised by kilometres of beaches, endless vineyard lands, mud volcanoes and a plethora of flowering lotus plants. The territory is known as “the peninsula of treasures and mysteries” and long ago was home to the large Greek colonies of Hermonassa and Phanagoria. Many of these people's historical items from everyday life have been found on these lands and preserved. RTG TV host Stanislav Salnikov travelled to the peninsula to learn more about the dramatic events that have marked its history. There he saw for himself just how unique Taman's nature is and that truly nothing else can compare.
