Fish cuisine in Ladoga

The late spring and summer months on Lake Ladoga are peak season for the commercial fishing of European cisco. Several times each week, large fishing vessels haul in hundreds of kilograms of this fish, bringing it to shore. From there it is immediately shipped out to nearby restaurants. RTG TV host Igor Vukolov visited one such restaurant, The Osinovetsky Lighthouse, tried this fairly rare fish and learned the proper way to prepare it. He also got to help make a local delicacy — smoked whitefish.
