It seems that time has somehow passed over the small, thousand-year-old town of Suzdal. Although only nine square metres in area, the town is home to five monasteries and dozens of churches and cathedrals. It has also managed to preserve its original layout. This fact helps Suzdal to serve as a perfect example of city development in an old Russian city in which Orthodox monasteries expressively tower over the surrounding low-rise buildings. With such an impressive city scape it is no surprise that every year hundreds of thousands of tourists from all over the world take the trip to Suzdal to see the quaint and historic town while also learning more about the history and culture of the largest country in the world. RTG TV presenter Olga Degtyareva travelled to Suzdal to check out its many sights and to get to know what life is like in the historic city.
