The following address 10, Varvarka street has been on Moscow map for already 5 centuries. Forged gates open the territory of genuine Boyar estate. Boyars don't live there anymore, though, it's a branch of the State Historical Museum “Chambers of the Romanov Boyars Museum”. It's dedicated to patriarchal everyday life of medieval Rus'. Presenter of RTG TV Irina Pudova will have a look at man's and woman's parts of house, learn what is kept in the “Boyar Treasury”, tell fortunes in a maiden room (in the 19th century called svetlitsa, literally translated as "light room"), listen to psaltery player and attend Boyar feast. And moreover, Irina is going to find genuine archaeological discoveries right in the centre of Moscow. In 80s of the past century a great collection of artefacts was found in estate yard including row of beams, fragments of oven layout and about 500 domestic items from woman's jewelries to toys and tableware. All this richness is kept now at underground archaeological museum.
