Veliky Novgorod is a city with a rich history. Tourists come from all over the world to admire the city’s Kremlin and Saint Sophia’s Cathedral. Although it may not be the high tourist season, a winter trip to Veliky Novgorod can be particularly interesting if you take a scenic walk around the historic city and try out other outdoor activities. RTG TV host Igor Maximenko found the time to go fishing in Lake Ilmen, visit the manmade Borshchovskiye Caves and explore the snowy trails for off-road vehicles and snowmobiles. He even managed to find entertainment near the very walls of the Novgorod Kremlin.
