Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics

The history of the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics is closely connected to that of the space exploration done by Russian scientists and researchers. The decision to build the museum was made shortly after Yury Gargarin became the first man to travel into space on April 12, 1961. Host Rumiya Niyazova visited the museum where she found out how the famous canine astronauts Belka and Strelka survived their flight into outer space and what the office of Sergey Korolev, the founder of practical cosmonautics, looked like. She also got to meet pilot and cosmonaut Alexander Lazutkiny, who told her about the time he spent on the Mir Space Station.
