Kamchatka Peninsula

Kamchatka’s landscape is both unique and diverse. This peninsula is like a primeval mountainous world where it seems the elements are involved in a constant battle against each other. Here you can see volcanoes and icebergs, barren tundra and green taiga - also known as the Boreal Forest. A shockingly beautiful sight - the Valley of Geysers - is found on the Kamchatka Peninsula. Located not far from it is another natural wonder – the volcanic caldera of the ancient Uzon volcano. Here you can see how the earth’s energy boils up to the surface right under your feet. It is estimated that on the Kamchatka Peninsula there are up to 14,000 rivers where salmon come to spawn. Fish play a huge role in the diet of brown bears. These creatures are very active eaters and can gain up to 1.5 kilograms a day! Between the mountain passes and inaccessible rocky cliffs there are many thrashing waterfalls; in the Pacific Ocean - many killer whales and frolicking sea otters. This mysterious peninsula promises to leave a long-lasting impression, and there’s no doubt that Kamchatka can be considered one of the most amazing places on the planet.
